Biscuits. Home made oven fries/wedges. Free form breads. Pizza. Cheese on toast. Pies to ensure the bottom browns. Etc etc. I don't put casseroles, cake tins or muffin tins on trays, but there's no right or wrong way.

Just off topic from the silicone ones, Why is it that when you put the metal pans in the dishwasher they start going rusty than washing by hand. Whats the difference?

Dishwashing detergents contain corrosive alkaline salts much more than hand washing liquids plus a combination of hot temperature and humidity. And if you use rinse aid which is also acidic, often its traces are left on the surface of metals speeding up rusting. I use hand washing now.

They still go rusty even without putting them in the dishwasher. Annoying!

I keep mine in the hot water cupboard. There is a little warmth in there and even though they are seldom used, they don't rust.
