Okra does anybody have a Recipe

Bandakka Theldala - Fried Okra



450grms okra

1/2 tsp panch phora

1 large onion finely chopped

1/2 tsp turmeric
1 tsp coriander
1 tsp chili powder

1 tsp salt

1 tab lime juice

1/2 tsp garam masala



Wash okra.Heat oil, fry the panch phora for 1 minute, add onion and fry until onion is soft.
Put in turmeric,coriander,chilli powder and salt.Add vegetable, stir, cover and cook over a low fire until tender.
Season with lime juice and sprinkle with the garam masala.Toss to mix.

You can braise okra with onion, tomato, salt, pomegranate molasses and olive oil.It needs to be cooked just to the stage when it is tender but not collapsed, about 10 - 15 minutes over medium heat.If you cook it too hard it turns stringy and gluey.

The Greeks generally cook fresh okra with chicken in the oven. You can google from any Greek sites around. I do have a recipe but don't have time at the mo to post.
