Our local coffee place makes a really delicious one, ive asked for the recipe but no go! Does anyone have a yummy recipe? I love it with whipped cream on the side.

This might not be exactly what you're looking for, but it's a classic, with date and ginger. CHEWY DATE & GINGER SQUARES 2 eggs 1 cup brown sugar 75g melted butter 1 tsp vanilla essence 1/8 tsp salt (pinch) 1& 1/2 cups flour 1 tsp baking powder 3/4 cup chopped dates 3/4 cup chopped walnuts 3/4 cup preserved ginger 1/2 cup rolled oats
Beat eggs and sugar, add melted butter and vanilla, pour into dry ingredients, previously mixed. LASTLY ADD FRUIT. Bake in 20 cm square tin 180*C for 30 minutes. Cut while hot.
Notes: + Because walnuts are expensive and not always reliably fresh, you can use chopped brazil nuts - or omit nuts. + Fruit is added last, separate from dry ingredients, because flour clings to dried fruit and makes the mix difficult to combine thoroughly.
