I made the rhubarb spicetrail shortcake wanting to know if the sugar should have settled on the bottom of the shortcake it is all sugary there and moist my husband loves the slice keeps eating it but to me it doesn't look right. If you put less sugar with the rhubarb topping will it lesson this affect. I would appreciate anything you have to say it tastes great. Thanks

Ah yes wiseoldowl - that's a Jo Seager recipe.I find Jo uses huge amounts of sugar and 1 cup should be ample and will reduce that sugary effect.Also you could add more rhubarb to the topping if desired.Hope this helps.Pleased it went down well with your hubby:)
