Smoothies question

duckmoon, Jul 12, 7:11am
Miss eleven has had a smoothies for breakfast for the last week.
I like her to have some carbs for breakfast (cereal or toast or porridge or something)

Is there some way to get carbs in a banana or berry smoothie!

Can you break a weetbix into it, or am I crazy (or both)!

How about this duckmoon! It's from a Weet-bix packet.

WHEATIE SMOOTHIE
2 cups milk
2 Weet-Bix
1 tbsp honey
1 banana
½ cup frozen mixed berries

Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.Pour into a tall glass.:-))

I always throw a couple of weetbix or some oats into my kids smoothies. Also a raw egg for more protein.

I've had leftover brown rice and thrown that in before (cooked of course). Cooked rice doesn't keep too well in the fridge, but is OK to freeze, so an idea could be to freeze it in portions of a half cup or whatever. It'd probably blend really well from frozen.
