Recentl I was over at Waikato Hospital and in the cafeteria they had a kumera and I think broccoli mash - does anyone have a recipe for same? I could be wrong about the broccoli but it was a green mash !!!

Chopped Spinach is nice in mashed kumera or pumpkin with a little cumin added.

I often make a mash from half broccoli or cauli and half pumpkin, butternut or kumara.The colour can be a bit unusual but the taste and texture is great.Add lots of butter or creme fraiche, plenty of salt and pepper, and use a food processor or a sturdy stick blender, as an ordinary potato masher won't get it smooth and thick.

kumara & pineapple mash. Lots of cheese on top & under the grill until bubbly & golden.
