lindy, this is NOT tried and tested, but it's also not Googled.
I copied it from a recipe book (can't remember now which one) because it looked like a promising one.Here it is, for what it's worth:
NOUGAT Mix: 1/4 cup condensed milk pinch salt 1 teaspoon vanilla essence 1 Tablespoon brown sugar Stir in: 3/4 cup skim milk powder 1/2 cup chopped walnuts 1/4 cup chopped glace cherries Knead, roll into rope 2.5 cm thick Dust with icing sugar, cut into 2.5 cm sections

Elliehen thank you so much must give that a try then it will be tried & tested.I don't know why but I just fancy some nougat.Haven't had any for years!
