for a picnic at 9am, would i be better cooking them tonight, or cooking them tomorrow morning? and what do i do with them once i take them out of the oven?

if you have the time make them in the morning, not sure what you mean about what to do with them when you take them out of the oven, I put mine on a cake rack to cool and then onto a plate and sprinkle with icing sugar, if you are taking them while still warm dont wrap with glad wrap but either use a clean tea towel or some paper towels.
