just made this and my syrup has turned to toffee used half brown and white sugar baked turned upside down now cooling rock hard what went wrong

Just suck the toffee! Bet it is delicious. Plenty of whipped cream or ice cream.
Maybe cooked too long.

yes served with ice cream and cream was better than i thought
