Dumplings/doughboys made with sourdough, possible?

I am having a yummy mutton casserole for dinner tonight madein the crockpot, is it possible to make dumplings out of sourdough! and how would you do it! Just roll balls of your bread dough and place on top like norml dumplings. TIA

somehow it does not appeal to me possible! no idea , never ocurred to me to make them with sour dough
