how did you look at the site doggitt?

Is there a way of still seeing it?

griffo4, Feb 7, 7:10am
A big loss of such a valuable resource but we must all remember at the end of the day it was fetish's baby and she put all that work into it and l suppose she couldn't let it go.
lt had everything in one place and that was the great thing about it and so easy to use.
Thank you fetish for all your work all the best for the future and l hope you still contribute to this place.

doggitt, Feb 7, 11:59am
I am sure the forum was there last night?

andrea1978, Feb 7, 12:11pm
sad

elliehen, Feb 7, 12:14pm
That's a very harsh and unkind comment, especially to someone who pointed to having health issues. As vinee said, 'Too many cooks... 'Not surprising if the very generous and giving fetish threw her hands up and decided that it was all too hard...

maxwell.inc, Feb 8, 7:35am
My opinion elliehen. . harsh or not. . I am entitled to it. . as you are to your posts... when will you learn that? NOT everyone sees things the way you do, and not everyone cares to sugar coat their words. . no one has to agree with you, and no one has to agree with me. . the fundamental right we have is freedom of speech. . You amaze me you really do and not in a good way.

annie.nz, Feb 8, 10:26am
Thanks, Eden, for all the work you've done over the years - it was fabulous of you. I hope you're feeling well soon!

fruitluva2, Feb 8, 10:49am
Wow I've just arrived back from long needed holidays albeit became a busy oneand seeing this thread and where to start to catch up with the flow so far.
So from me too Thanks a Bunch Fetish and everyone else that contributed to and for Trademe cooks I love and use the site often and we are all of One mind not to let the hard toil go and would support any moves to keep it where it is needed and belongs.
With your quote

'oh and lastly, I do want to make one thing very clear, the site has always been free to use, and should remain as much so as possible, its also been non profit, and that MUST remain so, I do not ever want profit to be made off the recipes, such as over the top donations, or profit made from selling any of the recipes in any way at all, if that couldn't be agreed on I would have to close the site and delete the lot, as its neither my place or anyone elses to gain from the recipes that all of the wonderful people that haunt this recipe forum have freely given over the years, and I'm sure that the majority of you will be with me on that issue'

Thank you for that and again @ Valentino Iadd my support in any way if neededI like and hopeFisher and Ferita's offers of help and being contributers to the forums and know who's who and what surely would be great choices to take up beside some others.

But just arriving on the last page have I read it correct that trademecooks has closed already? I hope not

maynard9, Feb 8, 11:21am
Yep - here was the confirmation from Pg 2.

mwood, Feb 8, 11:25am
hmmm maybe you would like to ask the Site Host to activate the backup files lol

houstylou, Feb 8, 11:55am
Lurker here. Why don't some of you just create a new site? It'll take time to get the recipes again, but at least it will be a work in progress. Don't give up... . take up the challenge! FETISH, that took courage.

annie.nz, Feb 8, 12:40pm
Good idea, there will be backups.

nfh1, Feb 8, 7:37pm
could anyone ask for them or would it have to the site owner?

annie.nz, Feb 8, 11:39pm
It would have to be the site owner. I looked on whois. sc, and the site seems to be registered in Australia, as far as I can make out. Fetish would need to get involved for this...

nfh1, Feb 9, 6:43am
thanks annie.nz - I wondered if it would need Fetish to do that.

alebix, Feb 9, 12:44pm
I for one thank you Fetish for all your hard work and financial contribution to the site, I for one loved it.

Im the same as others though, very saddened by the fact we didnt have any notice to C&P any recipes.

I do hope we can get another one up and running...

fetish, Feb 10, 7:03am
an outdated version of TMC's is back up, only recipes up until mid 2008, but I will see what I can do about any other restore options, you can thank Valentino for this turn around, as well as 245sam. I'm not going into any of the who what or whys, my health issues are not for public debate, I'll be talking with Valentino and 245sam at first about what will become of the site, and then it will go from there.

fruitluva2, Feb 10, 7:16am
Yay it is too, a little light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks Fetish, Valentino and 245sam.
Here's the link for those that may need it. http://trademecooks.net.nz/index. php

Oh wowl - thanks so much - you have made my day - week - year... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... . . -
... . . Several times in the last week I have thought "must check the site for such n such recipe - then realized - nope can't do that now. The old saying you don't realize how good something is until it's gone.
Really appreciate your combined efforts - just as long as it isn't to your 'expense' Fetish. Nothing is more important than your health/welfare.

mwood, Feb 10, 9:00am
Valentino' Service Provider (the host he pays) should have a master backup that would be current.

valentino, Feb 10, 9:05am
Thank you, yes there is a back up, it is taking a little bit of time to re install, reinstate... . oh the right word but a little bit of time is now required.

Cheers.

fruitluva2, Feb 10, 4:28pm
Thank you so much for that Pam, Cheers

And great news Valentino.

mvo, Feb 10, 4:37pm
And can I just add my vote of thanks to all those who helped getthe site back - an excellent result :)
