I'd like it to still be there. It's comforting to know its available when I'm an amature cook and need tried and true recipes.
I'd be content to pay around $5 - $10 a yearfor membership to Trademecooks; and continue to have access to only the existing recipes.

Yep me too - would like it to continue. Would be happy to pay a membership fee or something towards it. It cant die - all the work Eden has put into it has to be saved. Eden you are a gem.

Why would anyone pay $112 a year [or is it a new charge] out of there own pocket for such a site ? ? ? ? , it amazes me. . is this thread heading towards soliciting a sale , for the "trade me cooks" site ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ... . . I suggest it should be closed... . Trade me has given the tools for this recipe thread to be one of the best... I joined a nice forum two months ago, I would pay to stay there , it dose have more to offer , those with attitude , wouldn't last two posts... .

Hi, I would dearly love for this to stay. I am always on there looking for ideas for tea and am constantly recommending it to family and friends to use. I would happily contribute to continue to use it. Thank you Eden and Co for all your hard work!

The cost is to cover domain and hosting costs for one to have as a web site for others to view, have access and to use... ... and Fetish carried that burden all on her self plus the huge amount of time structuring it, administering it and keeping it up to date until recently.
As Fisher above noted was created at a time of such that over a good period of time, a number of very good recipes have been saved prior to the changes TM made in recent times.

And she is not soliciting a sale, she is too good for that.

Thank you so much, fetish for the work you have put into trademecooks. I can understand your reason for being unable to continue but I really think it is such a valuable resource that it would be a great shame were it to disappear permanently and I hope that won't happen.

Oh my goodness - it would be such a shame to have all that hard work and time lost - to say nothing of the immense array of fantastic recipes and hints. I have found it invaluable. I use it all the time and have recommended it to so many. Wholeheartedly support any ideas of how to keep it up and running. In the meantime thank you Eden for such a incredible personal committement which so many of us have been able to benefit from. Indeed the community needs more people like you.

pickles are you being serious? ! ! or just stirring? What a ridiculous comment to make. Believe it or not there ARE people who DO go out of their way to help others and Ededn is one of them - perhaps you had something to do with the Mace thread?

Thanks so much for everything you've done to create and continue a site that I believe is New Zealand's largest recipe resource for tried and true recipes from so many of us who's recipes have been saved there. . that's some achievement, that you can be very proud of. .

Thank you also for bearing the cost for all of these years - although I've offered to help previously, you've graciously continued carrying the cost yourself, and I'd also willingly contribute to the site continuing and look forward to doing so. .

@valentino/etc. I will host the site for free - no worries on that one. This would mean the costs go down to $30 a year. I'm sure we can get a select group of moderators built up (The wife and I are willing to help out with this, but it sounds like it will need another couple of people)

Please, flick me an email and we can get something sorted - It should be easy to get it transferred across as-is to give a starting point and then update it and tidy it up from there.

Yes, that's a very generous offer.

I'm going to be very busy for the next four or five weeks, but after that I will be very happy to lend a hand, especially if you need someone for the Asian and Indian sections.

Congratulations for a wonderful site fetish. It will be so missed but I understand the time and effort you must have put into it on your own for so long, let alone the cost. I am very very grateful for all your hard work and hope some way we can all pull together and keep it going.
