Wash The Jars in Hot water or put thru The Dishwasher to steriise them.

Oddly Royal Oak P-n-S (my go to store for the bulk of my groceries) also stocks preserving gear and that area is a little more high brow than Mangere P-n-S which doesn't stock preserving gear at all. Unfortunately neither stocks the preserving wax and RO only sells the cellophane when preserving is at its peak, meaning I picked some up during the marmalade season but can't get it now.
