I have just been to local new world in napier, check the flour/baking area and the gluten free part and could not find almond meal. Where would I go to fifnd this!

Its basically ground almonds.see the baking section, but in NW you wwill only see small bags.

When recipes call for it, I use ground almonds, sometimes I dry them out a bit in the oven. I buy them in large bags at the Indian supermarket so if you have one of them, check it out.

i got it from bin inn, and it was a great price too- cant remember how much, but it worked out a lot cheaper! :-)

For those who live in Welington Moore Wilsons have it for about $15 for a kilo, way cheaper then I have seen it anywhere else.

I buy it in bulk from lose bins at either Bin Inn or Countdown and keep it in the freezer so it doesn't go rancid.

I get mine from Moore Wilson. And yes, ground almond and almond meal are one in the same.
