Rhubarb

I am going to make a rhubarb crumble, the recipe doesn't say to cook the rhubarb first, does any one know if I should cook it first! Thankyou

No, like apples you put it in raw and it cooks while the crumble bakes.

depends I sometimes do cook it first, really depends on time and if I'm adding anything else to it eg apple

A good way of reducing the acidity of rhubarb and to make it less collapsible and wet is to blanch it briefly.Just cut it up and plunge into a pan of boiling water for 30 seconds, drain well and proceed.I didn't believe the difference that this made until I tried it.
