I like Pac'n Save but only decent ones like Sylvia Park... but have to say I've been doing online shopping alot lately which I know is not cheaper but you have a budget and you stick with it. And I find I put the luxuries at the start then can take them off if necessary. Whereas when at a supermarket I miss out as not sure of the total.

Pak 'n Save. Countdown prices are creeping up to match Woolworths.

I find I tend to save more at Countdown than Pak N Save, purely for the fact that I know the shelves at Countdown, I know the ones I won't need to go down, so less tempted to buy things I don't actually need. I find that when shopping at Pak N Save I tend to walk around looking for everything that I need and buy way too many other things on the way around.

Pak n save for boring groceries, meat from the local little supermarket and corn fed chicken, fish, fruitand veges from the local vege place.

I used to shop at Pak n Save and yes, it is cheaper! BUT the shopping experience at Countdown is so much nicer I figured it was worth the money to have a nicer experience! The meat at Pak n Save is absolute crap and the meat at Countdown much better. I go into Pak n Save occasionally for the odd special and to remind myself how unpleasant it is to shop there.

countdown is hopeless for loose items. tried to buy just a little bit of kidney beans- none in the shop at all. You would think thats a basic for winters soup. No pre packed ones either. won't be back for a while.
I don't eat meat-- so P&Sfor me it is.

I do a large stock up at Pak'n'Save then pick up the super specials from the others. Personally I think my Pak'n'save is cheaper. We have a foodtown really and wholeheartedly agree that the home brand is excellant.

I use to be a pak n save customer but have now moved to countdown. There prices are much better.

Depends where you live - Southland Pak'n Save have excellent meat - good quality. Some other brands limited, but I find overall they are best value

Pak and Save all the way - I like to think I am shopping in a nz owned business not a big Aussy conglomerate!

I dont understand how you all think Countdown is cheaper! ! I go there occassionally to buy thing that Pak n Save dont have and shocked at the prices they sell their goods. For instance, I can buy a wedge of perfect parmesan cheese for $5. 99 at Pak n Svae and the last time I looked at countdown the same item was $8. 99!

Nobody's meat is as good as I can get from my butcher. It is worth the few cents extra to have a beautiful melt-in-the-mouth steak from my butcher. He sells free range eggs by the tray and so they are cheaper to buy from him.
I think Push-n-Shove is much cheaper than either of the two nearby Foodtown/now Countdown shops and personally, the range is just the same, just comes in different packaging.
Our Fruit World vegetable shop beats every other supermarket hands down in both quality and price when it comes to Produce.
I think P-n-S let themselves down when it comes to fresh Produce and I hardly ever buy from them. They need to change their systems in that department IMO.

I prefer Pak'n Save. Considerably cheaper than Countdown. I especially like the fruit there. Our Countdown fruit is lousy, and also their meat. I dont get all my shopping at Pak n Save though, I also go to Woolworths and New World. Yes I love shopping and buy all the specials from each shop.

I live near Glen Innes, the prices at Paknsav are reasonable, their fruit is not as good as Lims fruitshop but the staff their are lovely.
