I have done this - it appears to link back to the web site, is that correct and if it is what happens when the site closes?
This may be a really stupid question as I am not too good with this new fangled technology thingee!

You have to go to the page above. . then go to "DOWNLOADS. . " in the middle of the home page... click on that. . Have a look and choose which you want. . read the instructions for EACH download... Once in your computer. . you will have them FOREVER. . Back up the files to a CD in case your computer fails... but they will still be on Fishers Kitchen to get back again if required. . TMC is down the bottom...

OK - I thought I did that but perhaps I did something wrong as every recipe I select opens a tab in FF!

firefox internet browser

Yes that's just opening the file in your browser. . (in your case FF) You should be able to scroll down and view the recipes. . Just remember you will have to open each category IN YOUR COMPUTER as this is NOT a working site. . NOTE: The files your are viewing are from YOUR computer and NOT from Trademe Cooks site. . When TMC closes, the same thing will happen. . FF will use the files you downloaded from your computer. :}}

10k recipes, Cookware Pro & Herb's do not run on my system (Win 7 x64)
Other documents (PDF & Doc) are fine as my zip file.
The TMC file is essentially a basic copy of the website. As such everything is still in html format and needs your web browser to view.

I see - many thanks for your help. It works just fine but I wondered if it would all disappear when TMC closes!
Thanks again to both of you.

bob... . Windows 7 has a command prompt, which looks similar to the interface of MS-DOS. However, only text-mode DOS programs can be run in the command prompt (and none at all on 64-bit systems).

FYI I'm doing a version 2. Adding in two forgotten pages and using the index pages with clickable links.
If you want to wait till Friday night or Saturday-ish.
You can download it yourself. Scroll up to post #73. Read the post there and follow the link to get it.

Version two is now available... Tony will explain how it works. .
http://www.e-ware.co.nz/recipes.htm
Go to this page. . click on "downloads" in the centre of the page. . Here you will find some very useful files, programs for crockpot, baking and thousands and thousands of recipes you can install to your computer to use as and when you wish. . "Cookware Pro" is a card file system and has recipes already to use but you can use this as your recipe card files to add your own. . 'Trademe Cooks" files are now included... at the bottom. . (save all you folk putting your email addies up on trademe) Please read the Instructions first. .

Whoops forgot about this...
Anyway, Version 2 has modified slightly some of the htm files. Two missing pages are now added. Also the index pages have been sorted alphabetically and now moved to the main folder. It now supports direct linking.
e. g Click on a topic and it will take you there.

Thanks once again for making this nice and simple. I have now dowloaded version 2 - do I need to keep version 1 taht I had downloaded the other day or is everything that is in version 1 in version 2?

They are essentially the same with me renaming some of the pages (which are vague names) in V2. It's your choice. It's only 13 Megabytes total for both files, so keep em both :-)
