Hi all, and thanks again for all the comments . . the only way I would see the site go on, is if someone who knows how, took it over completely, I don't want to have to worry about it, or to be having to teach someone how to keep the site, or update it, it is a shame to see it go, and if someone does want to do that, with NO ulterior motives,

aka making money off it, I would discuss it with them, as for loading that file that bob has made, again I would be ok with it, but I don't want anyone making money off this in anyway, this is not for myself, but for the 100's upon 100's of people who have contributed recipes to TMC, there is no way to get an OK from them all, so in their place I will state that none of those recipes is to be used to make money, or post on a website that will end up doing just that, and anyone intending on doing so should be very aware that not all of those recipes are peoples own, many are from recipe books etc, and are copywrited, even posting them myself was 'iffy' but I was not getting anything from it,

anyone doing so could be sued under NZ copyright laws. I know this means nothing to 99. 9% of people, but I have heard rumors about some site thats now running, which is doing just what I've described, as well as a crockpot recipe book which is while perhaps not making money, putting the author in a position where she could find herself in hot water so to speak.

Anyway enough of the rant about how I see things, and thank you all again for enjoying my site while it lasted :)

Now I need to figure out how to give it to peeps who want it.

lisa7, May 23, 7:27pm
Are you on the trademe recipe facebook group?

bob_doe_nz, May 23, 9:52pm
Nope. Linky please.

winnie231, May 24, 8:21am
Thanks for the heads up Eden ... I'd better get busy!

Here's the link to our facebook group ... I set it up for just this kind of thing - ie getting in contact with each other without breaking TM rules.

Just a thought. . how about moving the recipes to a free online blog instead? This is the most common one used by people posting recipes:

https://www.blogger.com/start

bob_doe_nz, May 25, 11:00am
Doing so would mean less control and other people stealing recipes and making money off other peoples work without credit.

fisher, May 25, 11:32am
Tony. . thing is that no matter where you put it, especially as a
down loadable zip file , then the whole site could be obtained anyways. . Its on site now available and as you know 8 hours of graft and you have it all . .
Fetish knows my motives for this recipe board. . If she wants, I can put it up on "Fishers Kitchen" as a down loadable zip file for folks to get at their leisure. . simply right click on the file and save. .
(will leave it there for 1 year)
She can then close her site down whenever she wants. . However it will be just the zip file available "now" as I do not care or wish to update it. . No need anyways with recipes here available by simply using the search function on trade me...

deus701, May 25, 12:09pm
Its no different from now. Well, you can disable right click on your page (so you can't highlight and copy & paste) so you have to copy recipes by hand.

Then you can also earn money using google adwords eg typing in souffle in google.co.nz will bring that page up.
