Don't know me well enough to call me sweetie, so please desist. Having said that, I must congratulate you on your attempt to put a positive spin on your reply. It's usually called fudging.

And your suggestions for the OP regarding food ideas are. ?

Have you asked the teenagers what they want? Depending on your budget and what they want you may even just want to buy ingredients and let them cook it.

My daughter often ended up making home-made pizzas for her friends or pasta or some sort. Once she and they started going vegan etc I kind of left them to it and they'd often do a pot-luck type thing and all bring something they could eat.

I didn't care what they ate when mates were over. They get a healthy enough diet the rest of the week. Teenage boys in my experience do not want a bean salad! American hotdogs and chips, nachos, enchiladas, quesadillas , curry with naan or roti, Lasagne, rotis chicken with salads and buns. I found the chelsea winter sausage dish with pasta, pumpkin and spinach makes a huge amount and everyone i've ever made it for loves it.

My son and his friends used to love Macaroni Cheese. Simple to do and is filling.

I must admit, when the girls have friends over, I figure my job is to feed them, not parent them. I also assume that they're being fed more along the carb/protein rather than salad line when they're at other people's places, and factor that in to the next week's menu in terms of fruit and vege intake accordingly.
