I'm thinking maybe just some good old chocolate chip biscuits! Followed by chocolate brownie. Maybe followed by pizza base dough.

What model did you all buy the artisan or the platinum! What is the difference between the 2 other than the price!

Much to my disappointment it didn't arrive yesterday :( it got here this morning! I broke it in with chocolate brownie. Delicious! Made pizza dough for our pizzas for dinner yum! I was going to make macarons tomorrow but couldn't wait, so they're just resting before I put them in the oven, I hate to see what the power bill will be this month!

Glad it finally arrived and it sounds like you've already given it a good workout!

They are exactly the same machine except the platinum range comes with the glass bowl ( hence the higher price) You wont get a pouring shield with the platinum as it wont fit the glass bowl. You can buy a stainless steel bowl to go on the platinum one, then you can get the puring shield to fit. Or you buy the Artisan ( which comes with pouring shield as standard) and then buy yoourself the glass bowl which is around $250

If you want to keep your machine nice and clean and scratch free, a cover is a good investment, Cant remember how much I paid but think they are around $95!

Thanks cooks that is interesting l had worked out that they were pretty much the same motor wise etc so just wondering what others were buying but the artisan sounds like the better deal and l like the stainless bowl idea

I have the candy apple red platinum kitchenaid, got it in the Smith & caugheys one day 25% off sale! I love it, now I really really really would like the icecream maker attachment, does anyone have the icecream bowl, how is it!P.S. the glass bowl is good as it can go in the microwave, but it is a little heavy for one handed holding. The flexi - beater comes with the platinum machine too, that one is great for making batters pancakes etc. I'm looking into getting spare bowl sent from USA.

Just remember that you negate any warranties and also watch freight costs or you will get pinged for duty by customs. They take into consideration the cost of the product AND the freight costs.

oh thats better than my $95 couldnt remember how much I bought it from you for :-)
