I have a V slicer (similar to a mandolin) which I wouldn't be without and have had for years, I use it all the time.The trick to no sliced fingers is to ALWAYS use the guard.

Yes I have one and hardly every use it. I find it's quicker to cut up the veges by hand. It is well designed and robust though, maybe I'll give it another go.

there was a thread in general, the poster used the nicer slicer and cut herself. and then two other family members also cut themselves. which reminded me of my 5yo nephew cutting himself - i am of the clumsy variety to won't be getting one
