Rice bubble cake- golden syrup instead of honey?

sue119, to be perfectly honest rice bubble cake/slice is something that I personally have never made but I'm sure that I have seen a recipe here on this MB that has golden syrup instead of honey so IMO the answer to your question is 'yes'.:-))

absolutely, i make mine with golden syrup rather than honey the taste is a little stronger but thats fine

I agree, fine with golden syrup accept you dont the honey flavour in the slice but I just added a bit more vanilla and they were scrummy!

Crispy Fingers
60ml golden syrup
28g sugar
28g butter
113g Rice Crispies
85g icing sugar
Glacé cherries
2 or 3 drops of
vanilla essence

Place the sugar in a saucepan with the syrup and butter. Stir the mixture over a low heat until it is melted.
Bring the mixture to the boil and simmer for two minutes.
Stir in the essence and the Rice Bubbles. Pour the mixture into a shallow, greased tin and
press down firmly. Decorate with the cherries. Leave in the fridge to set.
