Hi all I just received a $10 from Nestle.

yeah but did they answer your questions? More importantly !

That was worth it then! At least they admit their condensed milk isn't at thick as it used to be! Nice to be rewarded!

Beware Some Condensed Milk is alot thinner than other Brands, Problem isnt the Butter. The Foundation of making Caramel is in the Sugar or Golden Syrup you Caramalize, This is what sets the Caramel. Infact you actually dont have to cook the Condense milk at all, Just boil the sugar(golden syrup) and Butter till its a required dark brown, the longer the boil the stronger the crystalizing will happen that sets the caramel then just stir through the condense milk. I Never cook the condense milk! The boil time is a personal preference for thickness, I boil the sugar for about 2-3min.

Thanks, I'll give it a try, although my caramel recipe doesn't have sugar added, condensed milk is sweet enough without it.

Really? must have some kind of sugar to set It? Golden syrups the norm.
