what is the best way to store walnuts, just been shelled today they were last years. i have been told dont store them in plastic bags. can anyone help please?

Keep them in the freezer to prevent them from turning rancid.

Thanksfor the tip.I suppose you could put all nuts in there.Most of mine went rancid in a plasic container.

I cooked mine in the microwave and stored them in jars.Have lasted really well.I opened some today which were in the jar for at least 3 years now.They were fine.
