Have just seen that you come from Motueka.Do you know what people mean by the "recycling shop" there please?Daughter has just started as a house surgeon at Nelson Hospital and her flat is short some basics like oven trays.Someone said this is a good place for that sort of thing but we cruised out there last week and didn't find anything that answered the description.

Hi, Motueka resident here. Recycle shop is on Robinson Road, at the bottom of the hill before going up to the dump. Good as Gold is a local 2nd hand shop that are open 7days and may have what you want. There is a recycle shop in Pascoe St Nelson and 1 in Richmond. Good luck finding what you need for her flat. Also a good stall at the Motueka Sunday Market, Denny, the stall holder has lots of clean kitchen bits and pieces.

Greerg, as you approach Motueka from Nelson, the Recycling Centre (Cee Gees) is the last turn to the left before the bridge on the causeway that leads to the Motueka Roundabout. There's a sign, which I think says 'Refuse, Recycle' (the road also leads to the tip).

Cee Gees' Recycling shop is far superior to the Nelson and Richmond ones -organised, clean, tidy and with very helpful people who will put a hinge or a screw in something while you wait, if needed.Prices are almost giveaway too, which you won't necessarily find at the other business outlets.

Thank you - and of course now that you mention it I have seen that sign many times but didn't put 2 and 2 together. We always had to go to the dump at the end of our Kina holidays.Getting old!

Another excellent place for your daughter would be the Hospice Shop in Richmond (Queen Street...traffic lights end). It's only been open for about 18 months, but is one of the best Op Shops around (not to be confused with the Sallies Family Store which is nearby, and small and not so well-stocked).

Thanks again - will tell her.
