Cointreau or Triple Sec are pretty close. In a pinch you could use a mixture of brandy, orange zest and sugar I suppose.

Awesome...I have Cointreau! Ta

0800xford, Jan 11, 2:58am
what are you making?

player_smurf, Jan 11, 3:00am
A dessert...Strawberry Meringue Cream Trifle

0800xford, Jan 11, 3:02am
yum, i haven't had trifle for ages, that sounds nice.

player_smurf, Jan 11, 3:15am
It's easy too!Soak quartered strawberries in GM...beat 250ml thickened cream with 1 tbsp icing sugar and fold in 1/4 cup yoghurt. Place half of strawberries in glass bowl, break 4 Pav nests over them, put half the cream mixture on top and repeat. Garnish with orange zest. Yummo.

with no sponge? [trifle has sponge doesn't it?! it's been a while]
that sounds good either way ha ha

I think it's called Eton Mess after a schiool where it was first served.
