Dehydrators

henpen, Jan 4, 5:45am
I've been picking lots of apricots lately and yesterday dried some using the oven and by parking them outside in the 33 C heat. Thought I'd like to do lots more to see me through the year so am wondering if it's worth buying a dehydrators. Has anyone here used one - are they any good? Cheers

They are brilliant, especially when you have large amounts of fruit to dry. The best one is the Ezi-Dry which you can purchase through Hydraflow Industries. You can directly from them. They also make the Sush-Ezi and the Anuka electric hot smoker.

Ezi Dry.......mine has been going flat tack the last 3 days drying tomatoes, garlic, mint.My salads have perked up again with dried tomatoes in olive oil with garlic and feta.Yum

Don't bother with a Sunbeam....imo only good for drying herbs or flowers.

My mother used to have one. Didn't get used much and eventually got put in teh garage till I took it off her hands, then I didn't use it much either and eventually donated it to a hospice shop.
