buzzy. i do still eat it, but only a small slice, hubby makes up for me. as long as i dont have any/many other sugary items, i enjoy. It is not like pav is a weekly item. tho in the past week, almost. didnt eat it last night, so now going to share with friends. it is not a big one,bit of air in it by the looks. but sure it will be fine. Have a great New Year of Baking everyone.

cool, my mum would be ever so happy that her recipe has been shared and enjoyed.bless my mum.I do miss her, more so when it comes to baking queries. While hunting out the recipe book of mums, i came across my nana's handwritten recipe book. Oh the handwriting is so neat and flowing.another treasure to hoard in the cupboard. No pav recipe in that book tho.

after a lot of attempts, i finally got the pavola how i like them. found my late mums recipe, after a lot of ringing around, and sussing out old recipe books. made it this morning, and so far, still in oven and perfect.... the recipe was... 3 egg whites, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 3 tablespoon cold water...beat all this together, add 1 1/4cups sugar(either one), adding slowly, 3 teaspooons cornflour, and 1 teaspoon vinegar.just beat till looks good, about 5-10 mins. cook at 120, for 3/4 hr, turn oven off and leave in.

That's excellent korbo. What a pity pavlova is not a food that you can eat anymore. Boo hoo.

it was yummy. didnt really break when cream put on. will try and put a photo on, but not having much luck. not very good at all this computer stuff. actually if you go to the Hawkes Bay people thread, or type my name on left hand side in gen discussion, you will find a photo. I emailed to friend who put it on there. I am feeling so proud of myself, as my late mum always made them for our birthdays and special holidays, so happy to carry on the tradition, with her recipe.
