Hi everyone, I always used renco to make junket & we would like to make cottage cheese with our goat milk. No one in Dannevirke has it except in 5 litre bottles & I would never eat that much junket!

Thanks westshore2, that will be great. I used to live at Westshore, opposite the airport. Our goat is feeding 2 kids but still letting us have about 2 litres of milk a day so would love to be able to find more uses for it.
Or you can order it directly from Affco - Renco division, P.O. Box 122, Eltham. It comes in 1 liter containers for around 25 dollars. If kept in the fridge it will last over a year.

Thanks everyone for your help. I really just want the small bottle that you used to be able to get so fingers crossed. valentino, I asked that person a question on one of their auctions but they didn't answer me. I wasn't sure which rennet would be the right one & again, would it be the same as the one for junket. Junket is ideal for me as it's sugar free. They have 2 different types of rennet for sale on here.

Renco is a Brand name and is ideal for Junket (Recipe for junket included).
At that site above, both are very good but as someone noted, more for cheesemaking but then a Question using "contact us" on that website should clarify this. Vegetable or Calf works so depend on how one stands on this.
They will answer, just allow a day or two.
Cheers.

Gee wizz, it has been ages since one has made this, (thinking of decades).
It is unique, a dessert like something between a jelly and instant pudding consistencies but is made with milk only plus renco with a touch of nutmeg or cinnamon on top.

Predigested milk.

Thanks again. I will try their website, might have more luck. vintagekitty, it was something I grew up with, often thought of as 'invalid' food as it's easily digested. I brought my kids up on it & because of not having sugar, it's an ideal dessert for diabetics like me. When my brother, now in his 40s, was young, you could get renco tablets that made the junket coloured, prob to tempt the taste buds as it hasn't got a strong flavour.
