Have been thinking of buying a blow torch but a bit unclear on the refilling process ie where do you buy the gas and how do you refill? It all looks a bit dicey to me.

It's perfectly easy. Hardware stores or places such as Mitre10 sell the butane canisters that just slot into the torch.

No problems. If you are going to get one, get one with a decent canister. "Hotery" is one of the best and they do a professional torch at around $87.95 with a larger canister. The "toy" ones are cheap,however, they have a very small capacity and you end up running out of gas frequently.
