Pretige Stoneware pans

I was looking at these in Farmers the other day. They are way cheaper than those advertised on TV but I wondered how they performed.
Has anyone tried these pans, if so how do you find them. ?

Sorry, sp it should say Prestige

marvellous -so far. had mine for ages- but don't use it often, usually just for the odd pancake. No signs of wear yet.
bought it on a half price special

I bought one on a super special when they first came out knowing they were a cheap imitation (cheap as chips) and honestly it is really good. Am a big advocate of well seasoned cast iron if it's non stick you're after but when I have an arthritic flare they are too heavy for me so out comes the cheapy . Have had it for 2 years and still fine which has surprised me as I do buy good quality generally! !

Me too. I have 3 different sizes in these pans & they show no sign of wear after 2yrs. They are often half price at Farmers.

Thanks for your feedback everyone. I will keep an eye out for a half price sale on them.

Yep - we bought a couple of them (different sizes) from Farmers on special last year and they have been very good so far. They look as if they could be the same ones as advertised on TV as the bottom of the pans are exactly the same as shown on telly. (haven't seen the ad for a while and not sure if they still show underneath the pans) Anyway recommend!

those ones on TV were from Germany. I went to their website. To import them including postage would have been masses cheaper then buying here. All those TV thingies are a total ripp-off.

I looked at the original ones at a home show last weekend but couldn't afford the huge price tag. I then checked the prestige ones at Farmers and they are slightly different on the base but felt as heavy as the original ones. Thanks for your comments.

I wouldn't touch them. I had one where the handle broke off - just sheared straight off. Fortunately it broke as I was getting it out of the drawer, rather than when it was hot and full of food. It may have been a faulty one but that is so dangerous. It hadn't been dropped or knocked as far as I am aware

I won't touch them again with a 10' barge poll! ! !
Ex profie cook here who knows how to look after pans & bought 2 of these as they were lighter then cast iron while dealing with my hand injury - BUT - after less than 2 years, EVERYTHING is sticking!
Cheap chinese crap! ! ! Guess I got my $$ worth as I bought them half price but still disappointing ... especially when I was careful how I used, washed & stored them!
Save up & buy better.

I bought one of these on half price sale today. I noticed that it comes with a 5 year guarantee too... ... Prestige will guarantee the product will be free from defects in original material and workmanship. Arkat & winnie231, you should both complain if your pans failed to perform within that period, I would. I have filed the details and receipt for future reference.
