Fromage Frais is in Countdown - often near the yoghurt.

You should be able to find fromage frais in most supermarkets, usually with the children's yoghurts. You could try the bigger supermarkets, maybe Woolworth's for quark, but also try the delicatessens, health food store. In Wellington you can get it from Moore Wilson's, so try anywhere that supplies the trade.

Yummy I love quark! Havnet had it for years though! We used to get it from our German neighbours who made it, so yummy sprinkled with raw sugar for brekkie.

And if you are using it cooked or baked Ricotta Cheese gives you the same results and is cheaper

Fromage frais is cheese, creme fraiche technically is not. If you've got something called Cheese Creme Fraiche, I would think it's very likely to be the same as fromage frais.
