Mold on net curtains

hkm11, May 28, 9:41am
Advise please on what is the best way to get mold off net curtains. Ive noticed Ive already got some on some of my nets. I was just going to put them in washing machine on delicate with a good splash of bleach. Any better ways to get rid of it? Thanks

Bleach isthe most effective but you do risk yellowing synthetic fabrics. I'd try a paste of baking soda and water on the mould spots.

I've found bleach can make them too fragile so they rip. Have had success with soaking them in Napisan then washing on gentle cycle using Drive/Dynamo then hanging them up quickly which can mean they won't need ironing.

That's what I do - also soak in Napisan sometimes but bleach is quicker. However, using bleach does shorten the life of the nets.

I always wash mine in the bath with napisan. I have sometimes used a gentle brush on some of the spots which works well. I rinse them and put them into the laundry basket lined with a towel and rush madly to the clothes line. If you can leave them out overnight that sometimes helps.

Exit Mould is fab. Just spray it on and leave for 12 hrs and whallah! ! Can buy it for around $5 at most supermarkets. Oh dont forget to give them a good wash after. .

Just done all my nets! I soak them in napisan (or similar) then a gentle wash cycle. Come up good as new... . and the nets here are OLD!

Gentle is best as like others have mentioned, bleach dramatically shortens the life of the nets. I've found this out to my detriment and cost...

Yep, Napisan is the best & hang them back up straight from the washing machine, then they dry nicely in the right shape.

Napisan as other have suggested. I never use bleach its just too harsh and I mean I never use it at all on anything... .

Boil in a large pot with a vegetable stock cube, an onion, a carrot and 2 sticks of celery. The bestest stock ever.
