I have rather a lot of them. I quite like them in cheese sauce, but surely there must be more to life with a choko vine than cheese sauce. I am particularly interested in any choko soup recipes, and if anyone has tried them as a cake ingredient, in the same way one can use zucchini or carrot in cakes.

Don't be concerned with the trade. I've got plenty and I don't like food to go to waste. I've also got feijoas for Africa if you'd like some of them.

Well that would be great if your happy to take them to work, Im currently studying so pretty flexible with my hours to come pick them up. Have you tryed the feijoa and date muffin recipe on here? I made them this morning - yummy! Wouldnt say no to more to made some more muffins.

Trade Union Centre, 34 Harwood Street, upstairs reception. I'll bring some of each on Monday. Sadly I don't like muffins much. I make feijoa chutney, jam, cake, pudding, and dehydrate and freeze them for later use.

They are delicious as wedges! just cut them up into wedges and lightly coat with a little flour, sprinkle with salt and pepper or any sort of potato seasoning and cook as you would chips/wedges till crisp on the outside in a little oil on a baking sheet.

Yum will try that!

And yum I will try that too. The easiest way to coat such things with flour/seasonings is to pop them all into a plastic bag together and shake - voila.

They are indeed delicious as wedges - and not the carbs of spuds. Thank you.

I normally stir fry chokos. After you peel them. Cut in half then slice them approx 5mm. I stir fry them with other vegetables. Also i roast them. Cut them in quarters or halves, sprinkle salt, soya sauce, and oil and rub this over the chokos and roast with your meat. They are sweet when roasted. Chokos take on any flavours that you are cooking. I heard that you are making strawberry jam and you dont have enough strawberries, add a chopped up choko, it will take up the flavour of the strawberries.
