Does anyone have an induction kettle (for hob?)

ravo, Sep 24, 1:58pm
We are replacing our stove with an induction cooktop - can't wait. I'm considering getting rid of the electric jug and getting kettle that can sit on the induction hob.

Has anyone else done this? Do you love it? TIA.

I can't help as I have an induction hob (& just love it) but I still use the electric jug, but will bump this for you.
However I'm sure you will love your new induction hob. I loved cooking with gas but I like it even more with induction . probably for the ease of cleaning!
I burnt the first thing I cooked on it . faster than I imagined, but once I got used to the settings . it's a breeze.
Enjoy.

Saw some cast iron ones in Moore Wilson in Porirua so I would assume that they would be available in a kitchen supplier shop.

That's surprising as speed is one of the features. Mine's fast so I wonder if it's functioning properly?
I have found that some cookware that states 'induction' does not work. I have bought 3 different small fry pans & returned the lot because they wouldn't heat water!

This is surprising to me too. Our hob does have boost function for heating large volumes of water.
Could it be a function of your suacepan?

+1
I use my cast iron fry pans for cooking steak, so a cast iron kettle will work well, Perhaps check camping gear shops too.

Thanks, think I've found a cool cuisinart one I might get.

I was given a cuisinart kettle when we got our induction hob a few years ago, it was a lovely blue one, but unfortunately I burned it out when I turned the wrong element on and it boiled dry. Have gone back to using electric kettle.
