How is everyone getting on with them ?. I had a look at a few and found them to be a bit small.

There are some larger ones around now. I use mine a lot just wish I'd waited and got a larger one.

thanks for the reply. eljayv I did think they looked a bit small, we also looked at the Sunbeam conventional cooker, that will also air fry and cook a roast chicken etc. They are on special at Briscoe's, just under $100.00, beats near $400.00 for the largest air fryer.

i've been curious about these but i don't really get what they do that an oven can't.

We did look at those, the price was over the top I thought, compared to the other one we looked at that would cook a whole roast dinner, I will take another look at it though, I am not rushing it. smallwoods.

You are right, an oven will cook the food just the same. I am hoping it will cut the amount of fat and oil my husband is eating, he fries his food most every night.

We like it as mainly just the two of us at home. Empty nesters, yay. Although two at Uni keep returning. And the wife likes the taste without the fat/oil.

We ended up buying a Sunbeam Convection Cooker. It was 1/4 of the price of a Air fryer, the size we would need. It will do heaps more than an Air fryer, it just won't move the chips. He will just need to do that himself. Some of the cheaper Air fryers don't move the chips anyway.

Last nights leftovers with a light spray of oil and 2 fillet stks. Takes less than 10mins to cook and NO pots n pans. Cheaper an better than take a ways.

was that in a Air fryer or the Sunbeam Convection Cooker. imrae1. we are cooking chicken in it tonight most impressed so far. Husband said it may take over the oven. The chicken started to brown up in 5 minutes and looks divine . A light spray ok oil, he is wrapped.

I've got a small air fryer & it's a good size for me, but if feeding a family it could be a bit on the small side. I'm still learning about what I can do in it, have tried chicken pieces with a KFC copycat coating, chips, potato & kumera . vege rissoles (very successful) & looking forward to get more ideas. Most of us like fried food & most of us realise that too much of it is not a great idea . so to me, this is a compromise. I look forward to hearing how your chicken goes, pickles. It will be a learning curve, huh?

You are right about the fried foods, we lived on fried for years and believed a home kitchen should only have a vat and hot plate. lol. We should have got one of those cookers years ago. Dinner was all cooked in 30 minutes from raw. I cut the chicken in half and only cooked one half tonight. I will do the K F C thing tomorrow night I am very happy with it right now. samanya.

I am using mine more since I realised it is just a small very efficient quick oven.

If as eljayv says - use more as just a small efficient oven - maybe we should be looking more at microwave uses as that's all they R too?

We have had the DeLonghi 1131 Air Fryer for a week and have used it for every dinner. On sale at $299.00 it was the best one we could find. main beef is its quite noisy so we keep it out side in the BBQ area which is covered. DeLonghi has an app for a menu book and we have been trying different meals every night. First was lemon chicken breast and they were great. Does a good job on chips, potatoes . Easy to clean, move when hot, its an attractive appliance. We have the DeLonghi Multi Vac, now 20 years old and the DeLonghi Roto chip Maker,16 yrs old now, so I think they make good , long lasting efficient appliances.

I was at the Auckland Home Show yesterday and they had some really impressive models - there was even one with a rotisserie. I would have liked a better view but could not get anywhere near the front as there were so many people watching the demonstration. However, I am happy with my convection cooker. I'll be using it for my Christmas dinner this year as it cooks way faster than the oven.

Anyone bought one from Trade Me? I'd be interested to know what brands are good please?
