Are you talking about a mezzaluna? That is Italian for half moon. The tool has a curved blade with a handle at each end and you use it by rocking back and forth. Some come with a board with a bowl-like depression in the middle. If you want a cheap one to try out I'd go to K Mart. If you want a good quality one try House of Knives.

Mezzaluna? I've got one of those, but didn't know what it was called. I use it for parsley and other fresh green herbs. I love it.

Tupperware has an onion chopper thingy... (google is your friend)... My friend swears by it.

I don't know about the one on the Good Morning show but I used my friend's Tupperware one when I had to chop a whole lot of onions for a sausage sizzle and about half way through I gave up on it. I found it made my wrists very sore (mind you I was doing a LOT) and it didn't chop as well as I could chop by hand plus I had to chop them in quarters to fit in it so I figured if I have to chop them anyway I may as well finish the job with the knife.

hope53, I don't always actually watch Good Morning but rather I listen to it as I would a radio, however I think I have occasionally seen Astar using an early model of a Zyliss Food Chopper. To see a more modern version have a look at:-#286631792

Googled the "alligator". Didn't know that is what they were called. Looks fiddly to clean.

Hmmm - maybe I should get one. I hate chopping onions but love to eat them.

I had one of the ones shown on the youtube and it was very good, however I found over time the cutting wires started to bend and then it wouldn't work. So I have a zyliss one that pushes the cut product out to the side instead of the top and it is great. Excellent for doing potatoes when I want to make oven fries as well.
