I am sorry for those who have been helped by and enjoy the Food Lies thread but as there are those who find it offensive, I am prepared to let it just go.

Just let it go. I have had many negative posts aimed at me but I am not rehashing them. I could mount a really strong defence but it is pointless. All that does is prolong this shame and hatefulness.
Just let it go, move on and vote me off. I hope those who support me will vote the other hatefest threads off for me because I'm not 30 people so can't do it for myself.

I ma sorry Cookessential but I dont see what it is you are showing me , unless you meanthe pumpkin seed thing butthis is right and I work with chefs every working day who would yell blue murder if they had to tell you some thing so obvious in fact I think I would be fired for not knowing that . honest to god there is no reason for any one to get up set over such a small thing I'm so over you. I'll post what I like, when I like well in the real world working with food some thing like this could be said but with lots of "F" and "C" words and a few threats of the sackadded and being given a hard time all day and the worst jobs available . Buzzy tells things in a more gentle way than I have ever "heard" in 30 years of working with food I am just so surprised at peoples reactions , there are a lot of people learning about food and the effects it has in the body that I feel a lot of people on here would be up in arms at the way they are treated by the educators of this country

buzzy. . no doubt I suspect you are really a nice person. . BUT you cant on a public recipe message board, lecture to tell how folks should eat and take care of their family. . I suspect you have a wealth of information and so much to offer (as does ULI) to pass on but these RECIPE boards are not the avenue to do so... I suspect HEALTH would welcome you with open arms and even a pleb like myself would go over there to take part in the debate... Its your abrasive, schoolmarm, dictatorial. lecture like disposition that folks are taking umbridge to. . Folks are happy to debate, exchange ideas but WONT be told. . "this is the way and this is the ONLY way"... do ya get it... . I dont dislike you. . hate you. . I dont even know you... I can only adjudge by what you have posted and I dont like it... I also dislike the fact that for the last 8 years odd, you deem to tell me that I have WASTED MY TIME in helping folks (to the best of my ability) with helpful tips and recipes and also to steer folks towards healthy homegrown herbs. . Only yourself and 245sam are up to your standards. . you want to think it fine... but dont say it. . you'll get mine and other folks backs up. . Peace to you... I hope you can move on ...

jenner4. You are very kind but defending me will bring a backlash onto you that you don't need.
It would be great if the angry people rose above the mud and gave their own humanity a chance to show what great people they really are.
Just let it go and if letting go means you have to do something not quite nice or vindictive then do it. Vote my threads off.

buzzy. . I've voted. . as per your request! I've enjoyed skim-reading your posts, I haven't found them offensive at all, I haven't always agreed 100% with them but they are always clear and informative. What I've grown to dislike about this part of the message boards is the very thing that has happened to this thread ~ People simply WON'T let things go, they've got to bash something to death it seems. I'm sick of it. . it's worse than parenting now! LOL
The good thing is, I won't waste any more time reading in here. If I need a recipe, I'll have a quick flick through and go. It's too unpleasant to stay. I highly doubt that buzzy not posting anymore will stop the nastiness, I'm quite sure it will quickly get re-directed elsewhere.

I am sorry I left you out of my recommendations fisher. I assure you it was an oversight. Your help has been invaluable and I did not mean anything personally. Remember I was under a concerted and very personal attack. Under the circumstances you were easy to forget.
Can you not rise above this unintended slight? You have voted and now having done that I hope you are feeling better and can move on.

I think it's a good idea to tone down the intrusion of 'food beliefs' and 'food lies' theories into general recipe threads, but I recognise that they're not likely to go away, so I suggest that people with strong beliefs about nutrition stick to specialist threads like the 'Food Lies' one, and leave the ideology out of any straight recipe threads. We all know what's good for us, and we're all adults.
I do commend buzzy for trying to stop the aggro on the Recipes board, and I think if we all just accept her suggestion and leave the specifics out of this thread, the thread is more likely to be successful in calming things down.

Thank you for your advice and support in my attempts to deflect the hatefest into more positive feelings. I hope you see fit to vote any or all of my threads off and possibly seeing your way clear to vote of those other threads that I listed. Recipes is no place for such negativity.

Apr 26, 2:54pm
buzzy, please, with ALL due respect... I do not agree with you there. The two that I copied and pasted directly from the threads were pretty tame. You must admit that they are fairly constant from you. There is a saying about putting ones brain in gear before opening ones mouth... I dont know why you like to rubbish people, only you can answer that one. I looked at the title of this thread and even that is so over the top. I have never hated anyone in my life... heck, I dont even know you, however, I feel that there are some people here that make the recipe section a sometimes unpleasant place to come and sadly, you are one of them. People wil answer your queries ( like i did in the butter chicken thread for example) but you continue on and on in a very veiled smart a**e way with snide comments to boot... is it any wonder why people get their backs up? You know, someone asks a question, so we give them the answer that we feel would be helpful and then you come along and completely ridicule us, as does Waltraud... its so childish. We all have a wealth of knowledge, we all come here to share recipes and hopefully, we are able tohelp and encourage others. Do you really think that treating someone like they are a half wit is helpful? I gave two examples of your comments and could not be bothered trawling through the various threads to get more... it gave the general gist. This is not about the person, it is about the behaviour.

Perhaps a good way for buzzy to stop the negativity and the hatefest, if that is her earnest desire, would be to lead by example?
I will admit that I was less than pleasant to buzzy yesterday.
I wonder if buzzy could see, let alone acknowledge, that buzzy was perhaps less than pleasant to me?
cookessentials,
Apr 26, 3:01pm
Sadly annie, it has been buzzy and Waltraud(aka uli) who have turned these threads into slanging matches by their rude and negative comments. Now buzzy starts up a thread and keeps coming back in trying to look all innocent to gain some sort of kudos. buzzy, you seem to be the master of turning things around to make yourself look squeeky clean. Passive aggressive is the term for it.
doug57,
Apr 26, 3:05pm
I have to add, to be fair. . that there ARE others who swarm into ANY thread that buzzy or Uli start and generally wind things up. I think, from memory that buzzy was VERY restrained in her replies to such posters, however as time has marched on and the insults and wind ups have continued, she has felt the need to respond in a similar manner. However, she has apologised in the first post here for any upsets caused.
buzzy110,
Apr 26, 3:06pm
Cooksessential. I am trying to change that but I keep meeting resistance. What good does it do you to keep rehashing? Be gracious and let it go. Show more respect and stop using uli's real name and start using her TM name.
I am not a vindictive person but I am going to complain to TM now about your penchant for doing this.
cookessentials,
Apr 26, 3:10pm
well buzzy, you are more than welcome to do so. if you did not want to keep re-hashing it, why did you start another thread? You quoted something I said and I was answering you, simple as that. While you are complainging to Trademe about me, dont forget to add yourself in there along with quite a number of others... that sort of comment just reiterates exactly what people have complained about... run to Trademe if you wish. I am not bothered. So sick of the grand standing so will leave you to it.

How is it disrespectful using someone's name instead of their TM name when it is in their profile for all to see?
buzzy110,
Apr 26, 3:24pm
mbos. I am sorry that I suggested that all you were good at was opening packets of bread, etc and being a user of pre-packaged goods whilst implying your cooking skills are less than 100% fantastic. I realise I must have been seriously mistaken.
I realise now that perhaps you do not use processed foods at all and find the use of the same completely against your philosophy. I too would be deeply offended if someone suggested that about me.
doug57,
Apr 26, 3:24pm
because if someone had wanted to be addressed in threads by that name, they would have used it as their trading name. PLUS. . being an unusual name, the poster has received unwanted, unwelcoming phone calls to her home from 'someone' on these boards who had disagreed with her posts. And that most certainly is disrespectful.
buzzy110,
Apr 26, 3:28pm
Perhaps you would like us to start using your name then. Why not make it your TM name then everyone would know it. As it happens I now know yours but I refrain from using it out of respect for your privacy. I have always known cooks but do not use anything other than her TM name.
Why not just vote my threads off instead?
urbanproject,
Apr 26, 3:45pm
This is the only thread of yours that I've been on so I see no reason to vote off the ones you're talking about since I don't know what's written in them.
I have read A LOT of what other posters are talking about in other threads though and agree that you do come across as rude and negative, which is why I'm a lurker instead of poster. I am probably one of MANY members who lurk and don't ask questions to avoid being ridiculed by people like you. I'm glad I am not the only one who sees it now.

To keep you all in the loop, I have made my complaint and asked that cooksessential not be disabled, merely reminded that her behaviour is abusive and threatening and could she desist.
I think that this continued and persistent behaviour shows a callous disregard for uli's privacy and personal safety in light of the abusive contact made to her by telephone recently.
