Yes I think childhood food traumas have a lot to answer for lol I was brought up on black pudding, liver with fried onion gravy & mash, tongue and other various offaly bits.some dishes were actually really nice from memory, some not so much. I can't even bare the smell of most offal these days, kidneys especially, even if they are chopped finely I can smell them in a dish before I have even tasted it. Offal doesn't get wasted though if we do have any the dogs & cats get a treat and sometimes I make a nice liver pate for ourselves.

I have just been reading a thread on the Farming messageboard where some farmers admit to feeding pork and dead newborn calves to their pigs.
I wonder if people eating NZ pork would be happy to know this!

My son used to work for the Justice department and he told me that the pork sold as "Freedom Pork" is farmed by the prisoners in NZ prisons!Isn't that funny
Faggots, chips and mushy peas. Food of the Gods. First meal I have when I go back to Wales.

Faggots - a traditional Welsh dish - meatballs or sausages made from hearts and liver, onions, herbs and spices. They're extremely yummy, and, for the Welsh among us, used to be made at Scorpios Welsh Restaurant in Wellington. I don't know if the restaurant part is still running, but I do know that the owners are still running the bar, known as the Welsh Dragon Bar.
