Anyone have a great no-fail recipe!

Easy for our nearly five year old to make. He beats cream till thick, adds yoghurt ( usually berry of some sort ), marshmallows and cut up fresh strawbs. He thinks he is the man as he can do this by himself. Sometimes if he wants top be posh he scrunches up a flake over the top. It's cute cos he is soooo proud of himself when people compliment him on it.

How much yoghurt

samsnan, Dec 20, 6:02am
radsuzuki I just whipcream and add a couple of pottles of berry yoghurt. Then fold in carefully a tin of boysenberries (well drained) cut up marshmallows and a handful of chocolate chips. Make it well before you need it so it softens the marshmallows a little. Amounts dont really matter but when I make it it makes quite a large bowl full. It goes a nice pinky colour.

I use yoghurt, whipped cream, halved pineapple lumps, grapes, marshmallows and a crumbled flake for the top.

this is a favourite in our household
dont use too much yoghurt otherwise its not creamy enough

2 tubs of strawberry yoghurt
1 300ml bottle of cream
strawberries hulled and quartered
bunch of red grapes
1 packet of marshmallows
1 packet (or batch if your making) meringues
1 cadbury flake

whip the cream to soft peaks add the yoghurt and literally throw the rest in
making sure the meringues are in broken pieces
fold in to a gorgeous mess ad sprinkle flake ontop
yum!

Ambrosia Recipe
4 oranges
4 apples
1 pear
2 cups of pineapple chunks
500 grams of seedless red grapes (or you can buy seeded grapes and remove the seeds)
2 cups of desiccated coconut (shredded)
3 cups of miniature marshmallows
¼ cup of Maraschino cherries (optional)
2 tablespoons caster sugar
2 cups of sour cream

Method:

Peel and chop the oranges into small chunks. Remove any seeds.
Core, peel and dice the apples and pear.
Drain the pineapple chunks.
Halve the grapes and remove seeds if necessary.
Halve the Maraschino cherries.
Place all the fruit in a large bowl.
Sprinkle the coconut over the fruit and add the marshmallows.
Mix the sugar and the sour cream together and add to the fruit.
Mix gently to combine all ingredients.
Place in the fridge for one hour to chill.

Always used apricot yoghurt here also gives a nice tart taste but mixes nice when you add the other stuff
I have never heard of putting pine apple lumps in do they go soft like the marshmallows!

kokopuff, Dec 22, 1:50am
we also used pineapple lumps cut in half and marshmellows also cutinhalf as well as grapes. very nice

sylvia, Dec 22, 2:06am
My recipe is 250g sour cream, 3/4 pkt marshmallows (cut in half), 1 tin drained mandarins and1 tin drained crushed pineapple. Easy to have these ingredients ready in the pantry and it is delicious.

mine is same as yours sylvia except I add 1/2 c coconut, and soak the marshmallows in fortified wine for couple of hours before using - delish!
