i have a biscuit recipe to try and it has 1/2 tsp cream of tartar, can i leave it out as i dont have any? it has baking soda in which i do have.

Cream of tartar & baking soda is the mix used to replace baking powder. Probably better to just use baking powder, if it is a biscuit recipe use 1/2 - 1 teasp per cup of flour. Hard to be exact without a full recipe to look at.
