Onthe living channel today.

9 -6-3 ....The magic numbers for the best shorbread.ON a programme in Scotland.9oz flour,6 oz of sugar and 3 of flour.....Looked yummy could almost taste it....

gotta have icing sugar in there & some cornflour, gives a real smooth biscuit for "shorbread"!!!

I think not. That much butter would make it melt.
I use James martins jam drop recipe. 60z flour, 3oz icing sugar, 3oz cornflour and although he gave the amount of butter, I just add it after, enough to make crumbs, then add a teeny drop of water to bind, then bake. The water helps form the balls easily, evaporates so you get the proper texture after baking.
I think it was tbsps butter???
