I keep mine in a plastic bag in chiller section of fridge, to freshen soak in cold water, can add a couple of ice cubes:-)

I used to cut the roots off near the plastic cup, then put 1 to 2 cm in water, they would keep on growing for a little while.

I used to add a wee bit of water to the roots and keep them in the fridge.
Now I just grow lettuce in pots outside - it's so much yummier, cheaper and easier (takes up less room in the fridge too!)

Is there a secret to keeping these? Every time I buy one I carefully place the roots in water, and by the next morning the leaves are wilting. What should I do to keep them perky?
