punch recipe? P l e a s e

jdcm, punch is not something that I make regularly or very often at all, but for a special occasion that requires punch this is the recipe that I would "go to".

FRUIT PUNCH
This is an old recipe that Mum frequently made a half quantity of at Christmas time – It can easily be made alcoholic by the addition of a bottle of gin (to the full recipe!) – actually I recall Mum making half of the brew for us “kids” & it was made clear to us that the other half was definitely for the grown-ups only!

2·4 litres (½ gallon) each of cold tea, strained and grapefruit juice
900g (2 lbs) sugar
juice of 12 lemons, well strained
2 x 450g (16oz) cans pineapple juice
750ml fruit cup or mixed fruit juice
1·2 litres (2 pints) lemonade
4·litres dry ginger ale

Boil the sugar and strained tea, then allow it to cool. Add the remaining ingredients, adding the, preferably chilled, lemonade & gingerale last. :-))

Yes I do but sadly it's in Fiji and I'm not. :( So. what 245sam has said above with the addition of crowd pleasing quantities of rum would probably offer a reasonable substitute. Hic.

Jude's Punch - makes 10.5 litres

3 litres of wine ( a cask of any sort of cheap wine)
6 litres of orange/fruit juice
1 bottle of cheap sparkling wine
1 medium bottle of vodka ( can add less or more if want)

Mix altogether the night before, chill and then serve decorated.

To double the mix

6 litres of still white wine (2 boxes)
9 litres of fruit or orange juice
2 x 750ml bottles of white sparkling wine
1 large bottle of vodka

Store in used washed soft drink bottles.
