I wrap water chesnuts in streaky bacon, shove a toothpick through it and grill. Very easy.

To follow on from sumstyle's suggestion, try using prunes instead of the water chestnuts - also very easy, but best to serve warm not straight from the grill as the prunes tend to be VERY hot - these are known as Devils on Horseback - not sure of the origin of that name though but the alternative is Angels on Horseback which are oysters instead of either the prunes or water chestnuts.

True, 245sam - I couldn't remember what that thread was called, I am still in the rut of saying "look at Trade Me Cooks" - I shall have to change my ways... . .
