Help candle wax on trousers!

infinityjrc, Apr 2, 9:05pm
I wondered if anyone can help, i have somehow managed to splash the bottoms of a nice pair of dress pants with candle wax. Is there anyway to remove this easily? I know this is strictly not a recipe however many of you in here may be able to help... ... Thanks in advance.

scrape off excess wax with a knife. Then place a wad of paper towels underneath and on top of the stain/remaining wax and iron over paper towels until all wax is removed. Treat any remaining stain with drycleaning fluid (availble from chemist), wash as usual.

I use this method a coupeof times a week to treat candle wax dripped onto tablecloths in our business. Has worked everytime for me over the past 15 years.

Brown paper does as well for absorbing wax per above method

put trousers in plastic bag and in freezer the wax just scrapes of then.

This is the option I would recommend also as it sets the wax hard making removal easier. You may, however, be left with a greasy mark - you could then try the brown paper and iron method for trying to remove the patch. The freezer also works well for chewing gum on clothes too.
