Here in Christchurch we are still boiling all our water. I have been using my distiller (Spring Water one) which was a Godsend as it did 4 litres at a time (overnight, 4 hours at a time) but its packed up. Does anyone know the agents for them here, or I will ring the 0800 no tomorrow.

Hi there, There is a company called Pure Water NZ, based in Albany Auckland.They have all the spare parts, de-scaler etc,Give them a go :)

Thanks for that. Its been going every night since the quake as we still have to boil our water. Very handy as it does 4L at a time. I think it may be the element in the bottom, hubby is a sparky and took the top apart, but the bottom is a sealed unit so can't be opened and checked. I may price a new one if its too expensive to fix.
