I have a recipe that requires 1cup of cider vinegar (it's a relish) the thing is I only have approx 1/4 cup maybe a little less, any way both shops (and my Mum) haven't any, the closest shop other than here is 20 mins away, would that small amount of cider mixed with white vinegar do the same job, or would I be best to travel and buy the cider vinegar??????? TIA

I would use a malt vinegar with relish.
