Dairy Free Custard?? Maybe with liqueur??

Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a dairy free custard, that still tastes like normal custard... and if liqueur could be added? and if so at what stage?

Alternatively I have a recipe for Zabaglione (Italian custard) which is dairy free (6 egg yolks, 1/3c sugar, 1/2c marsala) and will try a hazelnut liqueur in place of the marsala...

only use dairy here, but you could try using almond, goat and soy milk.
