Hi all.
as per the subject title, is this at all possible?if so, what is the best way to go about cooking them and how long for?Ie, should I cover the chicken with water or only put a cup or two in the bottom of the pot?any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Depends what you want to do with the chook later.

My old laying hens usually go into the crockpot as I find it produces a nicer result than the pressure cooker.

I use lots of herbs and onion or leek, carrot and celery tops to produce a nice chicken stock.

The chook gets more or less covered with water and cooked with breast down, so that part does not dry out. I let it cool in the stock over night, then remove it, sieve the stock into another pot or freeze it and use the big pieces of meat for a meal and the smaller bits go into the stock for chicken soup.
